Book Description:

Sex in the contract – it’s the only way super-focused, over-worked CEO, Ellison Thorne, is ever going to get laid. That’s what his retiring business partner and secret match-maker, Beverly Neumann, thinks. She’s convinced no-strings, stress-free sex in certain employee contracts would raise productivity and minimize stress — perfect for a busy executive like Ellis. But she’s joking, right?

Enter her hand-picked replacement, Dee Henning. Young, hungry, gifted, Dee is the queen of no time for sex. When negotiations on a major project break down, and Dee and Ellis end up in each other’s arms, the Executive Sex Clause suddenly becomes more than a joke. In fact hot executive sex just might be the ultimate secret weapon for success. But secrets seldom remain secret, and Dee and Ellis soon learn there’s no such thing as no-strings where the heart is concerned.

My Thoughts:

When an author writes a series of books or in the case of Grace Marshall, a trilogy of books, my first thought is always “Will this book be able to stand on its own?”

After completion of An Executive Decision, my answer is a definite yes!

The premise of the book was definitely intriguing and Ms. Marshall certainly didn’t leave me hanging in that respect.

The characters were well thought out and had their own distinct personalities that just made you fall in love with them.

Ellison Thorne reminded me of a geeky man’s man, with the way he was concerned over the environment yet had a tough no-nonsense style when it came to standing up and fighting for what he believed in. This type of character gives you the best of both worlds in this reader’s opinion.

Dee Hanning is the perfect foil for Ellison Thorne. Her drive and sense of duty compliments and enhances his character’s qualities in such a way, that it would appear they were made for each other. Ok, so Ms. Marshall brought these characters to life on paper but I am sure they had their own say in how she would portray them.

Their sexual meetings as per the Executive Sex Clause burned holes in my screen. Smoldering lead ups to each encounter were executed with style and you knew that it would end in a sweaty release of endorphins. I would admit there were times where I wanted to swap places with Dee and experience the wild, primal feelings that were surging through her.

Setting a book against the backdrop of a business like Pneuma Inc, is in itself a huge plus for Ms. Marshall, as you can see the amount of knowledge she either already has or learned about multi-million dollar businesses, not only shows but shines through.

I could spend forever talking about how much I enjoyed this book but to be honest, if I continue I will end up giving away the little twists and turns Ms. Marshall has weaved into the story line.

Kudos Ms Marshall, and I look forward to reading the other two books in this trilogy and hope that you have set the bar for them.

I give An Executive Decision a 5 out of 5
